My updated gifs from The Last Unicorn: King Haggard and the Lady Amalthea

R.I.P Sir Christopher Lee. Your role as King Haggard has always been my favourite.

Christopher Lee loved being King Haggard. He loved the whole story, and was good friends with Peter S. Beagle. He was such a fan, when Beagle was working on the screenplay for the movie, Lee came to him with his personal, dog-eared copy of The Last Unicorn and said basically “I’ve highlighted everything you are not allowed to cut. If you try to cut something I’ve highlighted, you’ll have to tell me why and I may not agree with you and I will be super upset so just don’t even cut it, okay? Okay.” 

This year, the rights to make another movie based on The Last Unicorn return to Beagle. Lee was waiting eagerly for another chance to play King Haggard. According to Beagle, Lee straight up said “Now I may very well pass before you get those rights back, but don’t worry. I know a thing or two about coming back from the dead, and I will be back to play Haggard.” 

I can only hope he’ll keep his promise. R.I.P Sir Christopher Lee, and much love to his dear friend Mr. Beagle. Together, you made something very precious to me and many others.

I will never get over the gloriousness that is Silver’s arm. The stunning, mesmerizing animation and design and versatility and disabled adaptation equipment being fucking amazing, disabled character being fucking amazing, disabled character being my favorite Disney movie character of all time. Thank you for John Silver.
