love looking for internships
no one can work a full time unpaid position unless they have someone else supporting them completely.
usually these are students from wealthy families who can put them in an apartment anywhere in the country (or even the world) and support them.
another internship required you pay $200 a month for on-site housing, work 40 hours a week, and it was unpaid.
The audacity. If my unpaid full-time work wasn’t earning me a room on your property, what was it earning? “experience” doesn’t feed or house me.
I try not to be resentful, but it really is wild. They say “work hard and be honest and you can get anywhere.”
I graduated top of my class but that’s not paying my rent.
The internship system is broken and needs to be addressed.
