When Caroline Walter of Freiburg, Germany died at the age of 16, her sister, ,Selma, had a sculptor cast a life size sculpture for the gravestone – Every morning since Caroline’s funeral, a fresh flower was found tucked in the crook of the arm, and still is to this day – Nobody knows who leaves it – Every single morning! – Caroline died in 1867 – For 146 years, someone has been leaving flowers…

Caroline totes had a vampire lover.

Finished piece for tomorrow at the Red Bull House of Art in Detroit. This had to be super rushed last minute, so I’m very happy it came out the way it did. This is my first finished oil painting since college!

Azerbaijani painter writes Quran on transparent silk pages

Azerbaijani painter and decorative artist Tünzale Memmedzade has transcribed the Quran onto transparent silk pages. Memmedzade, a 33-year-old artist, used 50 meters of transparent black silk, and 1,500 milliliters of gold and silver inks in the project, which has taken three years to complete. (read more)
